Jacqui

Jacqui started her vet nursing career in Sydney, where she grew up. She completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies at Taronga Zoo, while completing her HSC. She also volunteered for 2 years at the Australian Reptile Park, while completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Science. In her final year of university, her desire to study veterinary nursing became overwhelming, so she started a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while finishing off her degree.
She has worked as a vet nurse since 2017, and moved to Newcastle in 2018. She has always had a love of the big, the small, the scaled, the furred and the feathered. She has owned lots of different pets, including a snake, a bearded dragon, cats, dogs, fish, mice and hermit crabs. Now she has two beautiful Staffy crosses, Randall and Elly, and one fierce little cockatiel, Hank.
Jacqui’s favourite part of the job is nursing surgical and hospital cases. She also loves phlebotomy and pathology. Although she loves being out the back of the clinic helping those patients in need, she also enjoys seeing the variety of beautiful and amazing animals that walk through our doors for consults every day.
While she loves all animals, she is particularly fascinated by reptiles, namely snakes, and will always jump at the chance to handle them when presented! Jacqui is super keen on advancing her exotic nursing skills and looks forward to loving everyone’s pets like they are her own while they are in clinic.
