Elle grew up in the small country town of Gloucester and animals were a part of her life from the start. She was surrounded by family farms and her childhood memories are of helping her grandfather feed the calves on the dairy farm. Her mother bought her first horse when she was young and it quickly turned in to her greatest passion. She competed in camp drafting for many years as a junior and still horse riding is her happy place.
When Elle finished school, she moved to Central QLD and worked as a Jillaroo on a large Cattle Station. It was an incredible, and at times challenging. experience, which set her up well for her career in the Veterinary Industry.
With animals as the centre of life and work, Elle then began her Nursing career in 2010 at a mixed animal practice, where she continued to work for 6 years. She loved the opportunity to travel to properties and care for cattle and horses, along with other various farm animals, and dogs and cats. From here, she was lucky enough to become part of the Sugarloaf family – intrigued by the diverse range of pets – and realised her love for the exotic animal field.
She was craving more experience and ventured to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Here, She was lucky enough to gain some incredible experience, working alongside specialists in the Emergency, Medicine and Surgical Referral departments.
In 2019, Elle decided to move back closer to home and re-joined the family team environment of Sugarloaf Animal Hospital. At Sugarloaf, her daily life consists of tending to many different patients, as well as assisting the nursing team with their roles and making sure every patient has the best experience they can from the moment they walk, crawl, fly or slither through our doors, until we can reunite them with their families.
Elle truly enjoys her career as a Vet Nurse and the challenges and variety of different cases that we have daily. Her goal is to deliver the highest level of care and treat every patient like they were a part of her own family.
