Nicole grew up in a small country town called Gloucester, where her career began. After completing a school-based Traineeship to become a Veterinary Nurse back in 2005, she completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and worked every weekend while still going to school full time. Nicole had four years at the Gloucester vets, where she saw large and small animals.
The best part of her nursing career began in 2010, when she joined the team at SAH. Nicole was afraid of snakes, but soon overcame her fear the more she handled and took care of them. Her fear of frogs has not changed unfortunately, and the crew like to play pranks on her with frog jokes!
From 2010, Nicole started running the Puppy Preschool program at the practice and continues to do so to this day. If you ask her, she loves watching each puppy’s journey and seeing them grow into seniors.
Nicole completed Cert IV in 2013 and on being accredited in frontline management and Practice Management school, Nicole worked her way up to become Head nurse and now Practice Manager of SAH. In 2016, Nicole revised her skills and went back to practice management school and completed this course. It looks like 2022 will be another big year of leaning, as she has been accepted in behavioural medicine!
Nicole has a crazy household. Her 16-year-old Blind Husky – Indi (first born), followed by the rescues, Harper – Great Dane cross, Boof, Biddy and Koa – three musketeer kitties, and recently old man George the talking Galah! Nicole wouldn’t have her household any other way! Her nephews keep telling her ‘No more animals Aunty Cole’ – They secretly love it though!
